We love Marion County. It is one of the finest places in Florida, but we are facing challenges. The economy has slowed significantly, and job growth has replaced population growth as the number one issue. This has caused us to make some tough budget decisions and re-set our spending priorities.

However, I believe that Marion County's future is bright. If we stick to the basics and create an environment for small businesses and families to succeed, opportunity will abound and jobs will be created.
